Two inventors from Davis, California have received “patent pending” on a stress relief device, according to Globe Newswire.
The technology, dubbed The Mind Table LLC, steers the body into a progressive state of relaxation by reversing the effects of gravity in the body, according to the report, resulting in a “relaxation response” with immediate positive effects.
Users have the option of using the Mind Table with headphone and goggles, while the device’s biofeedback component measures heart rate, blood pressure and brainwave activity.
"The prevention of stress-related disease carries with it enormous significance for the individual and his family in terms of their own physical and mental well being and for society as a whole through huge dollar savings in health expenditures," said Herbert Benson, MD, according to Globe Wire. "Society should sanction the time for the relaxation response."
The makers of Mind Table plan to introduce their device to several veteran’s hospitals to manage the stress of combat victims suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Additionally, the makers plan to install the devices in health clubs, airports and hospice center, according to the report.
