"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill."

Muhammad Ali

What do You Really Want? What do You Really Believe?

Why do certain people put themselves through years of intensive daily work that eventually makes them world-class great?
There has been extensive research done on this subject and researchers do not offer us an complete response to this question. However, my answer is Inspiration. The inner self being driven by passion. And as we reflect on what it will take to reach and become world-class great, we must expand our thoughts and look in the only place where we have left: The self.

The answers depend on your response to two basic questions:

What do you really want?
What you want—really, deeply want—is a fundamental question that must be asked and answered. The costs come now, the benefits later. If Inspiration is the seed of your want, the easier it will be for you to sustain the needed effort until the payoff starts to arrive. And if you are pursuing something that you don’t truly want and are competing against others whose desire is driven by inspiration, well, you can imagine the outcome.

The second question is more profound. What do you really believe?
Do you believe you have a choice in this matter? Do you believe that if you do the work, and do it with clear focus for years on end, your performance will eventually reach the highest levels? If you believe that, then there’s a chance you will do the work and achieve great performance. If you believe that your performance is limited by your lack of an innate gift, then the climb to success becomes much more challenging, with little chance that you will do the work.

What you really believe about the source of great performance becomes the foundation of all you will ever achieve.

Such beliefs are core related. Regardless of where our beliefs in this matter originated, we all have the opportunity to base them on the evidence of reality. Yet to find the drive, it is not just about our amazing talent, which is very important, nor our clear intention. It is listening to our all-knowing inner voice of belief in our goals. Our all-knowing inner self has clearly imprinted in us our belief of the outcome of our dreams and goals.

So it is important to not only ask the questions, What do I really want? and, What do I really believe? It is profoundly important to listen to your answer.
